KNX is an open international standard for home and building automation. It allows compatible devices from different manufacturers to communicate within one system.
In a KNX project, lighting, air conditioning and motorised shading can work together. You choose the functions and the look of the controls; our engineers select compatible devices, plan the wiring and program how everything operates.
KNX is a technology standard, not an equipment brand. Products from brands shown on the UMNO website are not automatically KNX compatible. We check integration for the specific models and requirements of each project.

What about other systems?
Audio/video, CCTV, intercoms and other equipment may interact with the automation through suitable interfaces and gateways. We verify the scope of integration for each device; these systems are not necessarily native KNX devices.

KNX questions in the UAE
Can KNX be installed in an existing villa or apartment?
Yes, but the approach depends on the existing wiring, access to cable routes and the extent of the renovation. We review the property before proposing an architecture and explaining any constraints.
Does KNX need an internet connection?
Basic local functions of a properly configured system, such as controlling lights from a wall keypad, can work without continuous internet access. Remote control and some cloud services require a network connection.
Can I combine devices from different brands?
Yes, when they are compatible, certified KNX devices. Equipment using other protocols may need gateways or separate interfaces. We check compatibility at the model level.
How is KNX different from a smart home app?
KNX is a standard for communication between automation devices. An app is one possible way to control the system; the mobile interface is selected separately for your project.
Can a KNX system be expanded later?
Usually, if spare capacity, access to equipment and up-to-date documentation were considered in the design. We assess the options for an existing installation after a technical review.
How much does KNX installation cost in Dubai?
